RWA Diwali notice format: how to lay it out
An RWA notice gets read on a phone in a WhatsApp group, and then again on the lift or gate notice board. A fixed format helps both: residents find the date and the ask in seconds, and the notice looks official enough that people follow it. Diwali 2026 falls on Sunday, 8 November, so most RWAs start sending notices from mid-October.
The format, top to bottom
- Header: the RWA's registered name, and the block or sector if it is a large colony.
- Reference and date: a simple number like RWA/2026/14 and the date of issue. It makes later notices easy to cite ("as per notice 14").
- Subject: one line with the event and the date, e.g. "Diwali celebration on Sunday, 8 November".
- Body: what, when, where in the first two lines, then details as a short numbered list.
- The ask: one clear action with a deadline and a named contact: register, volunteer, contribute, move a car.
- Signature: name and role (Secretary / President, for the Managing Committee). Unsigned notices get questioned.
Keep it to one page
If a notice needs more than one page, it is usually two notices. Split the celebration announcement from the contribution request and the firecracker timings. Each can then go out on its own day, which also keeps the group from scrolling past a wall of text.
