Diwali cultural programme notice for your society
The Diwali cultural programme (dance, songs, skits, a kids' fashion walk) is often the most loved event of the year and the one that runs latest. Most complaints are about timing, sound and the same few families getting the stage. A good notice settles all three before anyone rehearses.
Decide these before you announce it
Date, venue and hard stop. Pick the venue (clubhouse, podium, open lawn) and a finish time. Check your city's rules on loudspeakers after 10 pm and announce a stop time comfortably before it.
Who can perform. Open to all residents, with a per-flat limit on items (for example two) so more families get a turn. Kids' items go first, while younger children are still awake.
Registration and running order. One coordinator, one deadline, one shared sheet. Ask each entry for the item type, number of performers, duration (cap it, for example 5 minutes) and the music file in advance.
Sound and rehearsal. Fix rehearsal slots that don't disturb residents late at night. Collect all music on one phone or pen drive the day before, in running order.
Food and clean-up. If dinner follows, say so and say who clears the venue afterwards.
